Josh | Purefection Photography | Photographer

Welcome to my new blog and website where you can check out my past and current weddings and events I have photographed and get a glimpse of some of the things I like such as movies, tv, traveling, food and music and general things I enjoy in life outside of photography. I am a photojournalistic documentary Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer in the Oregon and Washington area and I love to travel, so Destination Events are highly welcome. I photograph Weddings, Engagements, Seniors, Babies, Families, Maternity, and anything else you need a photographer for to capture those amazing moments in your life. Have Camera will Travel! I would love to meet you to talk about photographing your wedding or lifestyle event and inspiration over a cup of coffee or tea. Thanks for stopping by my photography blog. I hope you enjoy stopping by every now and then to check out what I've been up to and to see some of the latest examples of my work. Please, make yourself at home here. You're welcome to hang around as long as you like, invite some friends over, and, while you're at it, leave a comment or two if you like what you see.
Thanks for stopping by!

Music For the Week

One of my New Year's Resolution's was to catch up on blogging some events from this last year and also blog more about what's going on while I edit and when I'm not doing photography. Obviously I'm a little late getting started this year already but am committed to putting up at least 2 or more new posts a week.

So to start it off while I work on a " My Favorite Photo's of 2010 " post, here is some new music I'm checking out this week and will update this post with my reviews of each album after I finish them. I plan on doing this as a weekly reoccurring post since I listen to a lot of music while I edit and work on my website updating with new work and events.

Here are the 2 albums I will be checking out this week while I catch up here on the blog and post this week:

Grade : A-
Harking back to the musical instrument driven days of one of my favorite albums of all time, Fashion Nugget, Cake went off the beaten path from their signature sound in follow ups like Pressure Chief and Prolonging the Magic. Thankfully Cake is back in full form with the new album Showroom of Compassion. After a 7 year absence from their last album, Cake has found their voice again in not only the lyrics but the balance of guitar, percussion and signature trumpet sound also adding piano into the mix. Most would categorize Cake as Indie Alternative but to me its more of a modern Skat Jazz with a heavy guitar influence. Although Cake at times can be very politically driven in the lyrics the album is a good mix of uptempo beats and mellow catchy tunes to hum along to.  And as my favorite song on the album says " It's Been A Long Time " ...Yes Cake it has been A Long Time. Good to have you back in my ears again.
