Josh | Purefection Photography | Photographer

Welcome to my new blog and website where you can check out my past and current weddings and events I have photographed and get a glimpse of some of the things I like such as movies, tv, traveling, food and music and general things I enjoy in life outside of photography. I am a photojournalistic documentary Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer in the Oregon and Washington area and I love to travel, so Destination Events are highly welcome. I photograph Weddings, Engagements, Seniors, Babies, Families, Maternity, and anything else you need a photographer for to capture those amazing moments in your life. Have Camera will Travel! I would love to meet you to talk about photographing your wedding or lifestyle event and inspiration over a cup of coffee or tea. Thanks for stopping by my photography blog. I hope you enjoy stopping by every now and then to check out what I've been up to and to see some of the latest examples of my work. Please, make yourself at home here. You're welcome to hang around as long as you like, invite some friends over, and, while you're at it, leave a comment or two if you like what you see.
Thanks for stopping by!

Ana & Mike's Engagement Session || St. John's Park

I meet Ana & Mike over a year ago at a coffee desert place on Hawthorne to discuss their wedding and photographing it. At the time Ana wasn't sure why couples do engagement shoots. I explained that engagements shoots are meant to just let loose and I get to know the couple a little bit before the wedding and they get to know me and my photography style. It also is great for just having some fun and relaxing professional photograph's of the couple just being themselves in the environment of their choice. I like being able to just hang out with the couples before the wedding so they can get more comfortable in front of the camera and me since we will be spending upwards of 8 hours together on their wedding day. Ana was super comfortable for the engagement shoot and Mike started coming around to actually not blinking and being more relaxed by the end. I enjoy seeing couples show their passion and love for one another and I think it came out great in some of my favorite shoots below and they both had a lot of fun and loved the photo's we were able to get before the wedding. Thanks Ana & Mike!

|| Aggie & Luke's Wedding - University of Portland ||

I really enjoying shooting cultural weddings that allow me to see how other cultures have different wedding rituals. I have shot at the University of Portland before and the campus is very beautiful and great for photography.  When I met Aggie & Luke we talked about our mutual fandom of the Portland Trail Blazers and totally hit it off, so I knew it would be a fun and comfortable wedding to shoot.  The inside of the chapel is absolutely beautiful and Aggie looked stunning in her dress. The reception was held at at the Legin Restaurant, authentic Cantonese style Chinese dishes, which has great food if you are willing to try new things. I recommend the lobster and crab meat rolls. They had separated the sides into traditional Chinese food and American Chinese food and I can tell you, because I ventured to both, that those who didn't try the traditional Chinese food were really missing out. I wasnt feeling to adventerous to try the fish eyeballs but maybe in a tropical setting someday in Bangkok or something I might.  Aggie and Luke are off to Alabama to start a new life together since that is where Luke will be stationed now in the Air Force but Im sure they will still rooting on the Blazers and missing Portland.
